Hi, I’m Katie Sue!

IMG_20170502_185606_474Welcome to my first ever blog post! I am so excited to start this little blogging adventure, and can’t wait to share it with you!

I’m Katie Sue, a 26-year-old woman trying to live the healthiest life I can (which can be a struggle if you have a sweet-tooth like I do!). Other than loving Young Living (YL) and wanting to share what I’ve learned with you, I enjoy cooking/baking, crafts and DIY projects of literally any kind (currently, my grandfather is helping me build a coffee table!), I do hoop embroidery in my spare time, and spend as much time with my family as possible (I am the second oldest of five kids, have three siblings-in-law, one completely perfect nephew โ™ฅ, 9 first-cousins, 10 aunts & uncles, and 6 grandparents that all live less than an hour away from me – and even more family further out). As a family we love to hike, go to the zoo, play board/card games, eat and eat and eat, and tease each other mercilessly. I work as the Product Administrator for my father’s environmental engineering firm; I’ve been with his company for almost a year, and I must say that it is such an incredible blessing to be able to work closely with my Daddy! I am a Tennessee girl, born and raised (Go Big Orange!!).ย IMG-2783I’ve never lived in another state, and don’t care to. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have had the opportunity to travel to some amazing places, though (here is me in front of a glacier in Alaska, July 4, 2017). I have a great life, full of wonderful, life-giving people and more blessings than I deserve. God is forever faithful and generous when it comes to taking care of me, and I owe everything I have and am to Him. I try my best to glorify Him in all that I do, and to use the resources, talents, and passions He has given me in ways that would please Him.

I have been using Young Living Essential Oils for over four years, and when I began I knew NOTHING about them or what all of the amazing benefits of these oils and oil-infused products were. Four years later, I now have a (mostly) chemical-free home, take YL vitamins and supplements daily, use oils in a myriad of ways, and have a much healthier lifestyle. I didn’t set out on my YL journey to change my lifestyle, but the more I learned about how beneficial oils are, and how harmful the synthetic chemicals in our food, toiletries, and cleaners can be, the more I wanted to make a change and live a healthier life.

IMG-2781This is what I keep in my purse at all times: my favorite must-have oils, and my vitamins/supplements for the day (minus a couple that were consumed before the taking of this picture. Also, if you look closely you may see a band-aid and a bobby pin or two that haven’t actually be used in years. A girl’s gotta be prepared!).

Now about this blog…

My main goal is to provide straight forward, comprehensive education on Young Living’s essential oils and products. There is so much information out there, and most products can be used in multiple ways, but it seems that information is scattered to and fro across various platforms. Each week I will go over just one product and dive-in to all that it can be used for (at least that’s my game plan). I will provide information about health benefits and explain how and why they do what they do, give DIY ideas (when applicable), food recipes, and more! Product education is the goal, so that when you read a post about Lavender Essential Oil and Lavender Vitality Oil, you’ll be well versed on all you can use this oil for – so much more than using it to relax!

One thing I don’t like about a lot of blogs is that the author seems to ramble on on about how such-and-such changed their life before they ever give you any real information (if I’m looking for a cookie recipe I don’t need your life story about how you liked cookies as a kid, and now your kids love cookies, and how great they are; just tell me tips on making a great cookie and give me the recipe!), so I will try my best to keep my information as straight forward as I can with videos, pictures, and info graphics. Of course, I will tell you how I use each product and why, which is important when talking about these products (not with a cookie recipe), but I promise to stay brief.

Please comment with any questions you have and tell me what products/topics you would like to be covered. Feel free to share any post so that others can learn along with us, and don’t forget to subscribe to my email notifications so you never miss a post!
